My name is Russ Egan. I am an avid eCommerce enthusiast who has built multiple online stores using Shopify, Amazon, eBay platforms and extensively used Google Ads, Facebooks Ads, and other online marketing tactics.
The purpose of Profitable eCommerce is to help you build a profitable online store.
During my journey I have spent over a decade in online marketing, beginning selling ringtones, selling ebooks, affiliate marketing, and finally into eCommerce. Over that time I have wasted tens of thousands of dollars and tens of thousands of hours of my time and I am hoping that I can prevent you from making the same mistakes.
It is hard to get started in this industry because there are so many ‘gurus’ online shouting about how easy it is, how much money they have made in impossibly short time frames. From my perspective, eCommerce is just as hard as any other business journey – although it does provide large opportunities for those who work hard.
There is a lot more to a profitable eCommerce store then throwing up a Shopify template, find a drop shipped product from China, and sending Facebook ads to it. This might work in the short term- but it is certainly no way to build a long term business that will delight your customers and supplement or replace your salary.
There are a lot of aspects of eCommerce that are not as sexy as the marketing side of things such as Inventory Management, Cash Flow Management, Packaging, Shipping, Storage, and Customer Service.
My goal with Profitable eCommerce is to focus on the boring parts of online retailing that will actually help you to succeed.
I have spent months getting record revenues and coming to the end of the month shocked that once again my store was not profitable due to the extremely high marketing costs.
The philosophy behind this store is Profit – to make sure that at the end of the month you end up with more money than when you started.
I also conduct eCommerce store audits and coaching, so please get in touch if you are interested via my Contact Page.
